Gas Transmission

Natural gas from the Montney formation in British Columbia will be supplied to Pacific NorthWest LNG. Natural gas will be transported to the site by a pipeline – the Prince Rupert Gas Transmission Project – that will be built and operated by TransCanada Pipelines. The pipeline project represents an investment of approximately $5 billion in British Columbia.

The final route of the 900-kilometre pipeline is still to be determined through engagement with stakeholders and First Nations along the proposed pipeline. The initial pipeline capacity is expected to be 2 billion cubic feet of natural gas per day, with the ability to expand to 3.6 billion cubic feet of natural gas per day.
